1) Tackling Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic Bullying in Schools: Overview of the excellent Tackling HBT Bullying Project and examination of the barriers to tackling HBT bullying in school. 2) Secondary Behaviour Management: A workshop to provide attendees with some basic classroom tips to help tweak the behaviour of a few of those troublesome subgroups to crack those difficult classes 3) Applying for jobs: Do you get frazzled by having to think of applications in the midst of marking, planning and assessing? Maybe you need some down to earth, practical help. 4) Primary Behaviour Management: What are the key messages to remember in getting our primary classes to remain on task? 5) A guide through the EYFS with a focus on the implications of baseline assessment
11.15am Workshop Band 2
Social Media: A balanced look at the benefits and dangers of social media for teachers
Teachers and Stress: Looking at how stress manifests itself, ways to reduce the effects of stress - and avoiding getting stressed in the first place!
Supply Teaching 101. A look at what to expect on supply. Information and suggestions to help with planning, behaviour management and current issues facing supply teachers
Literacy through practical theatre techniques: Suitable for all class teachers this session uses the techniques used by The RSC. Activities include active techniques to help pupils to engage with text, develop speaking and listening skills, use movement to build concentration and cooperation and promote curiosity, fun and excitement in literature.
